Have you ever imagined that shipping containers can be converted into a comfortable modern home? You won’t be surprised as Debbie Glassberg has it! She is the owner of the Home Contained, a contemporary residence located in Kansas City, Missouri. The home itself is sized two thousand six hundred square foot. And what is so special is that her home was built with five shipping containers.
If you look at the home for the first time, you may not notice that this home is built from five shipping containers, as the terrace is beautiful. Moreover, when you go inside and more inside, it is more astonishing. The design of the home itself is really chic. The home is put by some curving gypsum on the roof of the living room that gives the artistic touch in it. Then, the home is also decorated with white, blue, and black as the dominating colors, giving the sense of cheerful home. The important thing of the home’s purpose has been reached though it is built by shipping containers: it has comfortable living spaces, a green roof, geothermal heating, plant foam insulation and some passive solar. And at last but not the least, referring to Glassberg: “I and my family really love it. It is great space for living and great place for entertaining as well.”
