Situated on sixty-feet up in the Pennsylvanian treetops perches a tree house which is so fun and magnificent. It makes kids fall in love and Todd Oldham, the owner, said humorously that he has ruined the lives of quite a few visiting parents. It is his favorite childhood stories, The Swiss Family Robinson and Peter Pan, which inspired Todd to design and build this hideaway for himself and partner Tony Longoria, combining a fresh and natural take on mid-20th-century Modernism with rural, handmade style. The result is unquestionably a fancy getaway, full of venture and attraction. Todd is a person who cannot live without gadgets, so he has installed electricity to power his array. He also has every mod con you would expect to get in a regular land-based house.
Todd needed two years to find the faultless white pine to create this exceptional den, and it is located in the grounds of his weekend property on the edging of a sleepy town a couple of hours’ drive from New York. After consulting the companies specializing in children’s playgrounds and adventure wilderness rides for five months, Todd’s long treasured dream became a reality.
The idea to get close to nature by sleeping amongst the trees in a luxurious tree house is really brilliant. This will give a miraculous experience for both children and adults. On the moment when one is climbing the three flights of white-pine stairs to the balcony and entering indoors you swiftly forget you are leaning a long way from the ground. via
